Organic Food

Organic food is grown without the use of pesticides, artificial fertilizers, human waste, sewage sludge, ionizing radiation or additives. Yuck! Who would want to eat food that contains even one of the items in that list, let alone all.

With nasties such as these lurking amongst your tomatoes, is it little wonder that since the early 1990’s, the organic food industry has seen growth rates of around 20% per year. A report by the UK’s Soil Association shows that $3.7 billion was spent on organic produce in 2006 which was a 20% growth from the year before. It now accounts for 1-2% of all food sold worldwide which is a figure that is set to continue.

Traditionally, organic food has been grown on small family run farms which perhaps explains its scarcity. With more and more people discovering the dangers and problems that can occur when our food is exposed to chemical and man-made substances, the demand has increased and even the supermarkets now carry a range of organic produce. Studies that have been carried out in the past have provided possible links between the use of pesticides in our food and cancer, obesity, Alzheimer's and some birth defects.

Here at Baldwin’s we carry the very best organic food and produce, Infinity food. With Infinity food, you can be sure you are ingesting only 100% natural food, with not a pesticide or genetically modified crop in sight.

The levels of nutrients contained within organic food are also allegedly much higher, with up to 50% more vitamins and minerals than in intensively reared produce. Logic dictates that a crop that has been sprayed extensively with a man-made substance to prevent insects or make it grow faster will not be as rich in vitamins and minerals than a crop that has been left to grow in a natural way with simple good old fashioned water and sunshine!

Why don’t you try something from our range of infinity food, and see if you don’t notice the difference. Don’t forget to come back here and tell us what you think. Can you notice the difference between an organic apple and a non-organic apple? Many people, once they’ve tried organic food cannot go back due to the sheer increase in quality and taste they experience. We want to know if this has happened to you!
